Our Happy Baby!

Kitchen Diaries

Well, I'd like to think I'm pretty good in the kitchen but lately I've been a disaster. Every year my mom slaves to make me a homemade German Chocolate Cake. I love it almost as much as I love David, it's that good. And every year she sighs because it's a long and hard cake to make. Well, the other day we were talking about my Grandma's birthday, and I told my mom I would make the German Chocolate Cake for her because I know how much work it is. I spent all morning studying the recipe and called my mom to talk through the details. I was determined to have it turn out. Of course I misread the recipe and loaded it down with lots of extra water! I decided to bake it anyway, and as you can see, it didn't turn out. I figured it probably wouldn't when my batter looked like chocolate throw up!
On top of my German Chocolate disaster, I also made the most horrible brownies the other day. I was having a rough mom day and decided I would throw away my diet for some good brownies. The batter was beautiful and delicious. But I messed it up when I put it in the wrong size pan. Ya know it's bad when you husband hesitantly asked "Did you make a cake or something? What is that?" The top half was gooey and the bottom was burned. Let's just say picking off the gooey half the rest of the week did not make me feel better about my rough mom day.

My Favorite PJ's

I've decided these PJ's are a miracle. Will slept almost 8 hours straight in them! I was the happiest Mom on earth the next day!

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The weather has been so beautiful lately that David and I are getting outside as much as we can. Will loves being outside and he even went on his first bike ride the other day to Park of the Canals. We've also been at Red Mountain Park and Freestone Park. Here are some pics from our outdoors adventures.

Go Dolphins!

We FINALLY made it to Sage's soccer game. She had more fans there than I had at most of my choir concerts growing up! Will of course was very content in the arms of his Aunt Kasey and I was very content to watch Sage run all over the soccer field.

Conference Weekend

We had a conference miracle! Will slept from 10 pm-4 am!I couldn't believe it! Of course I still didn't sleep because I was waking up every two hours checking on him to make sure he wasn't dead! And of course that was just one night but hey, I was able to stay awake during all 4 sessions!
My sister gave me a ton of peaches and raspberries, so in line with Bodine Family traditions, I cooked a lot. In light of conference, I made Spencer W. Kimball cheesecake and it was oh so good!
