This isn't a new picture of Will, was actually taken while we were still in the hospital. I just wanted to put it up because its my favorite picture. Will will be 4 months on Tuesday. I've loved having him in our life and watching him grow so far. I never knew that having a family could change your life in so many ways. I find that I'm more anxious to come home now. I love to play with him and try to make him smile and laugh. Being a father is one of the best things that's happened to me. I love to watch Whitney with him. She's an awesome mother and devotes 110% of her time and effort to him so that I can go to work and school and I feel blessed that we are in a positions to be able to do that. I'm excited for the future and to watch our family continue to grow and to see what Will decides to start doing next.

Baby Will

Decorating for Christmas
Ever since i was a kid I've always loved decorating for Christmas. It's been fun now that Whitney and I have our own apartment that we can decorate as best we can. Last year we lucked out and got a free Christmas tree from my sister Kristen. This year we weren't sure what we were going to do for a tree. We don't really have a place to store it so we've avoided buying a fake one. We both have always grown up with real trees but they're so expensive here that we didn't want to spend money on that. We went to Walmart to pick up a stocking for Will and a few other things a saw a fake tree that didn't look too bad and was only 35 dollars. So we asked my parents if they'd mind storing it for us during the year and they said yes. So now we have our very own Christmas tree and its all set up and ready for Santa, that's probably the only way we'll have any presents this year anyway! Well after we got done decorating the tree Whitney got tired and went to bed. I on the other hand broke out all of our other lights, a step ladder, and a staple gun and proceeded to hang up all our lights outside on our apartment. I started about 9pm and finished up about 10. Whitney still thinks I'm a little crazy but like I said, I've always loved decorating for Christmas. We are now the only house/apartment on our street that has any lights out, and we stick out like you wouldn't believe.

Mini Bodine Pie Contest
Every year at thanksgiving time the Bodines have a big pie contest among all most of the Bodine extended family and a few other friends. This year we had to cancel the main event due to some busy schedules and other things that were going on at that time. Well I was sitting at home with Whitney one night and asked her what she thought about making pies anyway just for fun. From there we decided to invite the rest of the immediate family to join if they wanted for a "mini" pie contest. Whitney and I got to looking through our pie receipt book to see what we wanted to make this year. Now some of you may remember an older post that Whitney put up about a hot chocolate incident that went bad. Well that goes to show you that we have our good days and our bad days. Hot chocolate, bad day. Pie contest, good day. Whitney and I decided that we were going to make three pies, one individual one for each of us and one that would be a joint entry. Our joint entry was a Stuffed Crust Strawberry Cream Pie,
it's the one on the top left. It took FIRST!!!!
My entry was called a Candy Bar Pie,
It took Second Place.
And Whitneys was a called a Bananas Foster Tart,
It took third place!
(Tyler and Stephanie brought one that was actually 3rd but they bought theirs from a store so it doesn't count)
Its always fun to see who will bring what each year. Even this year when the contest was "cancelled" we probably had almost as many pies as we've had in the past.

Thanksgiving at the Kolstads
This year we spent thanksgiving at the Kolstads house. Here we all are gathered around the dinner table just about to eat. We were only about an hour late. My dad and I decided that that morning we'd take a ride on the quads up Four Peaks mountain. We just kinda lost track of time and before we knew it we were on the top of the mountain, 18 miles from where we parked and we needed to be back to our house in a half hour. Oh well we had a blast. Dinner was great as always and we had a really nice afternoon visiting with my family. You know it wouldn't be Thanksgiving though with out an after hours call into Grainger. This is the second year in a row that I've had to either show up late or leave early because somebody needed a part from our store.

David's Messy Morning
Dance Class
The other day my niece asked if she could come over to my house for dance class. I thought this was kind of out of the blue but quickley agreed. So, the other night all my nieces came over in their leotards and tutus for class. I busted out my Nutcracker cd and old moves from when I took dance as a little girl. Much to my surprise, the girls did so good following directions and learning basic ballet steps. But, dance class quickely came to an end when they found Peter Pan in my dvd collection. I can't wait to have class again!

Happy Vetern's Day
The parts of the parade I did see was really great! The Toro Band was the best one there ( no surprise here) and Lucas looked great marching! I also enjoyed the Karate group, the old Veteran's driving in cars, and my friend Laura's dance group.
David and I have a friend who recently got back from serving a tour in Iraq. He is a great guy and loves his country. We love you Lance!

Call me Martha Stewart
I busted out my sewing machine this past couple of weeks and it's been really fun! My mom and I fixed up my Cinderella dress and accessories, I've been sewing burp cloths, I threw together David's Caveman outfit, and now I'm working on a birthday present for my niece. Sometimes I get so excited about the little projects I'm working on. My friend Jenna and I are going to start beading binki clips too.

Happy Halloween
I don't know why, but I got really excited about Halloween this year! Will was the cutest little pumpkin I've ever seen, and I couldn't resist being Cinderella since it only cost me 10 bucks off ebay! We certainly got all dressed up but the funny thing is we didn't really have anywhere to go except our trunk or treat and my parents house! It was quite the array of Disney character's at my mom and dad's this year.
Dave decided last minute to be a cave man, so I quickly hopped on my sewing machine and together we designed his out fit. The best part was watching him run around like a caveman.
