The World is Crazy

We are truly living in extraordinary times. It is no joke that these are the last days. Covid numbers have gone up drastically in AZ this past week and the city has mandated face masks. The Tonto National Forest has been on fire for a few weeks now and you can literally see the flames on four peaks. There have been riots, shootings, violence, and theft all over the country for a few weeks in the name of racism. There are literally pockets of certain cities that have been taken over with violence and formed their own "city". Hopefully, that will be squished. Social media is going crazy. Everyone has a strong opinion about everything going on.  It seems like every time I have a conversation with someone it is about all this craziness. The public schools are sending out surveys and holding community virtual meetings trying to figure out how school is gonna work. School is starting on August 4th and it might really stink for the kids and teachers.  Chruch is still at home and I'm missing singing in primary. (Dave says I'm the only one in this world that is missing church! )

I've painted everything in sight, quit working, and the laundry is caught up AGAIN-something is wrong in this world when my laundry is finished and put away. I've gained 15 lbs in the past 6 months-eek. I'm just missing normalcy-whatever that is anymore.

On the other hand, I have been feeling very grateful to live where I live and in the circumstances, I'm in. What a blessing. David has awesome job security, I'm able to stay home with the kids, heaven bless Ms. Christy the art teacher and FUSE for helping keep my kids a little bit busy.  We've got a pool and a tramp. So much food that I've been getting fat!

The words of our prophet the past couple years have never rung out so true. One's testimony is not going to survive this craziness unless you can learn to listen to the whispering of the Holy Ghost and be deeply rooted in Christ. I feel like my testimony is withstanding these tests, and I'm so very grateful for that. I feel an invisible protection over our family-it is the priesthood. Keeping the commandments bring this power into our home. I probably should be terrified for Dave in his job-but I truly have not been. There is so much fear in our country right now-SO MUCH! But not here. It is because of this power.

Bodine Girls Camp

We had the best girl's camp! My wonderful mother coordinated everything. This was the best girls camp I think I've ever been too! and it wasn't just because we all stayed ina cabin.  I was with people I loved, we all participated in everything and had a great time doing it all! I'm proud of myself for doing some tricky driving in the Explorer, we water painted, did hiking, skit night, church meeting, devotionals, games, dancing, movie watching, and just had the best time. The girls were begging Grandma to do it again next year.

Things are starting to pick up again! The govenor lifted a few restrictions but I think people are just so done with everything most people are going back to normal-including us! We had our Spring Music Recital, it was great as always!

Dave and I were working outside one morning and freak huge gust of wind came and flipped over out nice new canopy! Dave was so sad, he takes this thing everywhere-and so was I because it was my shield from the sun while painting.

I painted the girls room, walls, base, boards, doors, closet and we did crown molding too. If it could only stay this clean...

We visited Beth at her new house

Rock n Roll Camp! It was so nice for all of us to get back to singing and dancing!
