Fourth of July

This week was the fourth or July-one of my favorite holidays. I just love America! I don't have to cook too much, I love patriotic music, and just the history of our country-we are so blessed! Last minute David got put back and work so we got to party with him! It was wonderful! Uncle Micah came to the movies with us, we saw Toy Story 4. We had hamburgers, swam, and David lit off all of his fireworks in our backyard. He let William help with the blow torch this year. It was so nice spending time with our Dad.

Swim team goes on. There are vicotries and there are losses. This past week the girls actually raced eachother in the same heat (that's Allie next to Holly).

A few weeks ago Trellany made a German Chocolate Cake and put a picture on the family chat. But then she took it to the Udall's! How dare she! Ever since then I've NEEDED one. I took matters into my own hands and did the deed. No one's birthday-just a desire to eat the most delicious thing on earth. And oh, it was!

Utah

David was not able to take any trips with us this summer so I decided to take one without him. I talked Sandra into taking the drive to Utah with me. I drove more on this trip than I had in my entire life!!!!! I was proud of myself-soooo much driving. Sandra really saved me on the way home, I think I only managed 4 of the 6 hours.

We staying with David's Uncle Ivan and Aunt Jolene in Manti and it was great! It was fun getting to know them! We went kyakcing, to the Manti Pageant, talked with Grandpa Star and did a little four wheeling. The kids loved getting to know their Kolstad cousins.
Then we left Sandra in Manti and headed to Bountiful to see Emily's family. It was so fun to get to know her kids and husband. We got to see Lacey and her twins also. We didn't do a whole lot-just played and chatted, how I love my friends. I did take the kids to Music and the Spoken Word-the girls first time. I had Holly lie to three different people about her age! She's close enough though! The kids were too grumpy to do too much at temple square so we went back to the house.
The weather was beautiful, the Lord blessed us with safety and a functioning car, it was a great trip. I think I have the Utah bug out of my system for a while but in a few years I would love to go back with David and stay in Manti again.
