She's Our Blessing

We had Allie's blessing day over Thanksgiving weekend. We had lots of family here and it was really nice. David gave our sweet baby a beautiful blessing. She is such a sweet little baby and is so happy. We love her and are so glad to have her! It was nice to be in our home ward with all of our Yuma family as well. Allison looked so goergous in her white blessing dress and we were glad to celebrate her being here.

Cousins

I love all the new babies in my life! This is such a special time for my family and we have another little one to add to the mix in just a few days. So fun! Of course this was yet another crazy photo shoot where I had no idea what I was doing, and of course somebody is always crying right? It's obvious who is oldest and youngest (even though the oldest is only older by 2 days, what a little chunky monkey!) I love these babies!

A Yuma Thanksgiving

Since David had to work over Thanksgiving weekend we decided to stay in Yuma. My parents and Micah came down to join us and it was so great having them around! This was my first Thanksgiving in our own home, my first time cooking a turkey, and David's first time carving one. I thought I did it perfect until my Mother pulled it out of the oven and pointed out to me that I forgot to take all the guts out! Oh well! It was my first time right? I got to bust out my china and also made a huge bowl of cranberry salad which was gone in 2 days (due to my father-gotta love that man! he knows what the best part of Thanksgiving really is!)

It was so nice having family around to help with the kids. We all got to go the movies multiple times, took naps, and even made it to Algadones Mexico. (it's only about 15 minutes away) Uncle Micah I think went every day to the movies! Thanks for spending Thanksgiving with us!

Mommy's Girl

A couple of weeks ago I put Allie in my blessing dress for church. My Grandma made it and she also made Allie's dress that she will be blessed in a few weeks. I thought she looked so adorable! I just love this girl!

Halloween 2010

For some reason I really look forward to Halloween. (I think it's because I have an excuse to wear a costume-and getting dressed up is sometimes really fun) Will actually understood the joys of this holiday as he went trunk to trunk getting lots of candy. Grandma Kolstad and Kim got to come with us and it was also fun to see all our primary kids. We were glad David was able to be around.
Isn't his Batman pose the best. The sucker tops it off! Grandma Kolstad made his costume and his cape flying in the wind all night looked GREAT! Thanks Grandma!

I knew there were many purposes to my weird talent of making tutu's! I couldn't get over how adorable my Allie Angel looked!

We carved our pumpkin on Halloween and it took Will FOREVER to stick his hand down in there. He was diggin it as much as we had hoped. In line with Batman, Dave carved a bat and it turned out really good.

Annie Lynn

Kasey had her baby on Sunday! Annie Lynn Klein! I"m so excited! Of course I can't wait to meet her next week and drool all over how goergous she is! This picture gives you a glimpse of what you have to look forward to Kasey (ha ha!) No really, I hope Annie is just as good for you as Allie is for me!

Allie Angel

I am so in love with my little girl! She is such an angel I thank my lucky stars every day for her! She is such a good baby, doesn't cry that much, and is a very smiley baby. We love her! This bottom picture of her looks just like David's baby picture. She definitely looks like her Daddy!

Allie's First Road Trip

Thanks to Grandma Kolstad taking care of us, I took the kids to Mesa a couple of weeks ago for Kasey's baby shower. It was a non stop weekend but we were really glad we made it and were so glad to meet baby Jacob. He is huge compared to Allie as you can tell! And as always prayers are answered because I had zero problems during my travels as a single mom in our clunker of a Jeep!
This is Kelli and I with each other's babies! I thought we were looking pretty darn good considering we both have newborns!

Here is my darling little sister opening presents. I hardly talked to her all night but we all had a great time and she got lots of wonderful things from so many generous people. This will be little Annie Lynn's blessing dress made by Grandma Erma.

Mommy Tales!

You know you are having "a mommy day" when...
  • Your child has already been on time out before the sun comes up
  • Your child triggers your migraine because he's screaming
  • You let your child run around in the manure, in his diaper while you wait out your migraine
  • You let your kid watch two full length movies before lunch time
  • Your 2 year old cries WAY more than your newborn (wait, I guess that's everyday at our house)
  • You take a 30 minute shower, use every drop of hot water, and just don't even care what your kid is doing in the other room
  • You change right back into your pjs after your shower
  • The only thing in your fridge to give you comfort sounds gross so you pray that some kind neighbor will have devine revelation to bring you a huge tub of cookies and cream ice cream because you really don't feel like hauling everybody to the store just to get one item
  • The only thing you want to do is blog about how bad your day is going even though you know that no body wants to hear your complaining and it won't make it better anyway
  • Nap time doesn't come soon enough
  • Your husbands job at Harkins and nursing school is lookin pretty good to your at home schedule

Thought some of you all could relate! I'll have to blog again after the caffinated soda I chugged kickes in and I'm feeling better!

I love my new little nephew! What a fat cutie! I can't believe we even got these pictures because the house was crazy busy with children running everywhere! But somehow I hope these manage to show his handsomeness! Love you little monkey!

First Bath

Allie has started to enjoy her bath at night lately. She usually is pretty calm and just enjoys the warm water. My friend gave us this cute duckie towel and every night I just think she is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Allie also likes getting her hair combed-just like a girl. I think this is my favorite time to hold her. She's clean, feels better, and smells better. Lately I've been putting her in some of my nieces old baby pjs and she looks so warm and cozy!

William the Trouble Maker!

Don't let this precious picture fool you. Between kisses Will has been pouncing, smushing, hitting, kicking, pulling, ect. and we are surprised that Allie still seems perfectly healthy. It's all part of adjustments but this week I finally got smart, put locks on the doors, moved the swing to an even higher location, and keep putting Will in time out a million times a day no matter what I'm in the middle of doing.
This picture just makes me laugh because these 2 monkeys look like such trouble! Will got to spend the day with his cousin Grant a little while ago and they make quite the pair lately! Gotta love these rascals!

William's Adventures

Will has had a fantastic couple of weeks! He has gotten to play at lots of friends and cousin's houses. When Allie was born my parents came for 5 days and completely entertained him and took him all over Yuma. Then he got to spend time with Grandma Kolstad, Kolstad cousins, cousin Grant, and topped it all off by sleeping over with Auntie Kasey and her dog Scout! He had a great trip and it was SO nice to spend some time with my little Allison and with Dave. Kasey and Tyler then brought Will back and stayed for the weekend. I loved having them around! Thank you everyone!
I made Jacob a sock monkey and figured since it came with 2 pairs, I would make Will one as a gift to have since the baby was here. I thought it turned out pretty darn cute!
The past few days he has been playing with neighborhood friends, giving kisses to Allie, and trying to be patient while I nurse/change/burp/ect. What a lucky boy!

Baby Girl Is Here!

On Thursday September 2nd our sweet little girl was born. I was so thrilled at the thought of having a baby girl and the perfect delivery that we had -that I decided David's name choice of Allison Whitney Kolstad would be perfect. She was 7lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. She has the most gorgeous dark hair like her Dad and so far is showing signs of looking more like her Dad. She is an angel and we are so glad to have her here.
Will is a big brother! He was so adorable meeting Allison and hasn't stopped giving her kisses. It makes my heart melt in between my heart being scared for her getting squashed by him. He seems so big compared to her and I can't believe how my first baby is all grown up! Can't we just freeze time! Will has had a lot of adventures lately with relatives being around and will have to get his own post for all his fun times!

We are a family of 4 now! I can't believe I'm old enough for all of this! Heavenly Father has blessed us so much. I'm so grateful for my little family! Is there anything more wonderful in this life-no way! (I just hope I can remember that when I start having melt downs because of sleep deprivation, crying children, and a dirty house! Someone remind me ok?) My wonderful parents spent all weekend with us and it made our special time even more special. I cryed when they left I was so grateful for them. To top everything off I chatted my my sister Kelli at home with her new baby all weekend as well as Auntie Kasey who is busting with pride for her 2 "twins" as she calls them!
