December Celebrations

December and January are big celebration months for us. Davy and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. Surprisingly I squeezed into my wedding dress and the girls finally could wear the little girl dresses that Sage and Faith wore to our wedding. They looked so cute at church. David and I went to the temple and then ate out.

Then Christmas. The girls finally fit into my Grandma's red dresses, once again so cute. We went to a ton of family get togethers, we partied every night it felt like. My mom and dad surprised David (and me, but mostly Dave) with a flat screen TV. Will accidentally found all the Santa gifts in the back of the car so Santa had to bring more toys than expected. Tyler and Stephanie had their baby-Andrew, I get to meet him today!Whitney was pretty overwhelmed all week and got a cold. We had the breakfast buffet at our house this year and we were so glad to have left overs. And-Micah graduated from ASU! Whooo! Kelli and I learned Sleigh Ride and I think that about sums it up

And now Davy's birthday. I was surprisingly successful and getting him a gift with out him knowing what is was. The day after Christmas I drug all the kids around 5 stores in search of a clearance Christmas Tree. Not only did I purchase a pretty decent one, I found a majorly marked down tree skirt-how could I resist. No body in the family wants our old Charlie Brown Tree, so I think we are going to give to to someone who does! Davy turned 31 and he wanted to take the kids to the movies and have the family over. He worked the actual day of his birthday but both Kristen and I delivered goodies to the hospital.

Yum pie! Davy of course went all out on his Black and Blue Peacharoo. I tried to cook with the kiddos this year. Allie helped me a lot on the pumpkin pie and both Will and Allie helped with the mint chocolate pie. The kids got a prize. What was most fun was eating Micah's pies-they were so good! Lucas also! Micah made a coconut cream that was SOOOO good. Of course Mom swept every category. But-she actually got recognized because Dad did the awards.

7 Year Anniversary

Seriously-last night was one of the THE MOST WONDERFUL NIGHTS EVER! Dreams came true again for me! I thought the MOTAB 2 years ago might have been my last magical night in about a decade or so-but I once again got to have a magical night. So David on a daily and weekly basis is not overly romantic-but every so often he busts out these HUGE suprises for me. The Rebel, the Bosh and now this.

He kind of arranged a sleep over for the kids at his Mom's house and made it look like she totally volunteered and wanted the kids over for the night while we went on a date. I thought this is great-we'll just call this our anniversary date.So all week I kept thinking of things we were going to do-temple, dinner, Christmas shopping because I knew he wouldn't even think about plans until we dropped the kids off. But that day he kept saying let's do something different tonight maybe we should go to this Myth Busters Exhibit. So I just let go of planning.

Well in the car I mentioned to him-again-that Micheal Buble was coming in town. We parked and he told me to pull out the tickets, I didn't even open them because I thought they were for the Mythbusters. But he kinda waited for me, I thought "wait is it Friday?" and then read the words "Micheal Buble". I had a hard time containing myself in public! Seriously SOOOO shocked! I never thought I would get to see him perform again!

3 words-NIGHT OF DREAMS! So super fun, loved every minute, Dave said I was giddy as a school girl. The seats were awesome, the show was awesome, I so loved having Davy with me. He sang all the great hits that needed to be sung and it was so fun!

Love my Davy, he knew just how to celebrate our anniversary, birthdays, and Christmas! What a lucky girl I am!

Halloween

This year we all had multiple costumes-one for every party I suppose. We actually went trick or treating this year, but I decided it's not worth it. The kids just get junked out on candy and it's not even that good of candy. Will started getting tired and Dave was the one wanting him to get as much candy as possible-probably for him to steal out of the kids bags. The Bodine Halloween party was a great time as usual. David was a celebrity with his homeade Minon costume. He began in the afternoon so I definitly was skeptical, but it turned out great. Strangers were stopping him to take a picture. It was really funny. And ofcourse all the little girls loved my Cinderella, I was adored. The kids we leopards, princesses, pirates, and an ADORABLE strawberry.

Pumpkin Carving

Why is it every year when we try to carve pumpkins with the family the kids never want to participate and just end up crying and fighting? True once again this year. But Dave and I had ended up with a few decent pumpkins for the doorstep.

Aunt Dixie

My Great Aunt Dixie recently passed away. Mom, Tyler, Kelli, and I took a day shot road trip to Snowflake to go to her funeral. It was a great day! Mom spoiled us, I saw my cousin Lauren and my Grandma. I even taught Grandma how to eat a cupcake. Gwen did a great job speaking at the funeral and overall the day was just peaceful and nice. I always felt Aunt Dixie was interested in us. She was a go getter and kind of spunky. My mom really loves her Aunt!

Follow the Prophet

Yesterday when we were listening to "Follow the Prophet" on the computer Will said "Mommy we never stand in front of the prophet" and I said "Why what do you mean". He said "We never stand in front of the prophet because we don't know where to go. That is why we follow him" I thought that was pretty profound for a 5 year old and so cute!

Holly Smartie Pants

For the past 4 days or so Holly has been using her potty successfully! She pretty much taught herself! I seriously can't believe the progress she has made all by herself! The joke in the house is that she will be potty trained before Allison who is working on over a year of potty training.

Disney Recital

I put on a Disney Recital for my piano students, and I must say it was probably was one of the more fun recitals I've ever done. There were a lot of Disney Songs and Show Tunes-wonderful! I gave everyone ears and we ate Mickey Cupcakes! I was so proud! I love watching them perform and do it well! Of course there were sour notes, pauses, ect. but most of my students pulled through beautifully! Some even perfectly! Love my job!

Sometimes funny conversations happen during piano lessons. Today one of my students tooted, and she very politely said "excuse me" I said "you are excused". Then she asked "Do you do that sometimes?" and I  responded "We all do that sometimes" then we both giggled. And man, it stunk in there!

Vaseline

Seriously-why is it that every time I turn around Holly is COVERED in Vaseline she has smeared all over her hair and body! She can't keep out of it-it calls to her. I've also learned that it takes about 4 different baths to finally get all the grease out. So pretty much Holly is looking like a grease monkey all the time-her hair wasn't that cute to begin with and now it looks even worse! Oh-how much she reminds me of William!

September

William started soccer, he really likes it. He probably could care less about the sport but enjoys being on a team, feeling proud, and keeping busy. Our first games I hauled the kids there myself in Sunday clothes and it was deathly hot. We had to search the the right field and I can't believe we survived.We were not prepared and the kids were RED! It was hot, next time going to bring reinforcements to help with the kids and the sun!

We had the craziest monsoon storm come out of no where! We had invited the Milletts over for a swim but it started pouring right when the party started! So-we let the kids play in the rain and swim in their clothes-they had a blast. We had to bring everyone in when the lightning started but then notices a full double rainbow over the house! Too cool!

Allison and Bubba turned 3 years old! We had a princess cake and a train cake. She felt so special! Majorly spoiled by family! The princesses were all over the place for birthday festivities. We got Allie a big girl bed which seems to be going great so far! We love our Angel!

 

 

 

 

 

 

August

Willam started preschool at Irving with Ms. Leopold! She is a wonderful teacher and he is having a great time being there every afternoon. The only bad part is the treck with the 3 kids in, back, in, and back! I seriously feel like I'm baking in an oven 2 times a day. Allie so badly wants to go to preschool also, but I keep telling her she needs to go potty by herself before that happens!

 

We also celebrated William's 5th birthday! As well as Faith's 8th birthday-they will always celebrate together I'm afraid. Will is a big boy now and the rule is now that he is five he has to have clothes on-it's a challenge. He had the BEST birthday ever and was majorly spoiled by all his family-we gave him a soccor ball.

I got to go with Faith and the Millett girls to see her get her ears pierced-so fun! She is so grown up and her baptism was so special!

The Hair Cut

I've gotta write this one down so there won't be any arguments in future family discussion about how it all went down. It's been a while since this happend because I finally had to stop crying about it! Well, we had a bunch of cousins playing with us one day and right when Aunt Kelli came over Allie came running to the door. I saw her hair and after a minute realized it was cut to the scalp in like 10 different places all over her head. The picture really doesn't show the gravity of the situation.

 

I started crying and melting down because her hair was ruined. William had cut Allie's hair. He said "She wanted a Dora hair cut". Well Kelli took over, and I started cleaning up the PILES of hair chunks all over my couch. I was able to calm down a little after a while, Allie had absolutly no idea what happened, except that Mommy was crying and sad because William used the scissors on her hair. Even a few months later any time a hair cut is mentioned Allie says "that make Mommy cry".

 

I called Lacey and she came by after she got off. Lacey said it was the worst she has even seen or heard of-eek. It was pretty sad looking at Allie's hair the rest of the afternoon before Lacey could get there.We had no other choice but to use the buzzer. Before Lacey started she looked at me and said "Are you ok?" I said yup, and she started cutting it all off.

 

 

Here's the final result. She's been mistaken for a boy many times since, poor girl. I'm just grateful she could care less and still feel beautiful like a princess. William I think understands what a bad decision he made because EVERY ONE in the family talked to him about it, and still does give him a hard time even to this day-he'll never live this one down! We thought after getting punished for using the scissors on the blinds he was cured, but no, the boy used them again-on his sister. Hopefully the message sunk in a little deeper this time.

the dress

So when my mom was cleaning out her closet a few weeks ago us girls were all mortified that she we even put this dress in the pile to give to us! She wore it YEARS ago-majorly out dated-shoulder pads and all. Kasey told us to hold on a sec before I chucked it-she saw the vision. Kelli worked on it-and I ended up wearing it since it fit me perfectly. Didn't it turn out cute? We laughed a lot while Kelli was trying to fix it up! We weren't sure if it was going to cut it-but I wore it to church today and got 2 compliments! The dress lives on!

July

This is our adopted dog Harley-she mostly bull dog. She doesn't appear to be the most friendly but she really is a sweet, fun, dog who handled Williams daily riding's, poking, hitting, and bugging all day long. For that she officially is the best dog ever! We had her for almost a whole month while our friends were on vacation. We had lots of fun having a dog around-but at the same time have been reminded why we are not dog owners.

This girls is a danger to herself! Yup, she got majorly burned with 4th of July sparklers when Dave let her go for it. We had a huge 4th of July party at our house, the biggest one at our little house yet! Both sides of the families and few other assorted people. My husband LOVED it! He loves being the party house and he for sure was in his element lighting everyones fireworks off-he was happy to oblige. Once again, he couldn't contain himself, and once again we talked about why there is not a fireworks budget-oh well, we'll talk again at New Years. It was a great and busy night!

Splash Pad

We went to Tempe's Splash Pad the other day and much to our surprise, our kids didn't last very long at all. They had much more fun flying the plane with Dad. Oh well, Allie enjoyed herself the most but Will and Holly weren't too excited, what's wrong with them!
