A Grand Trip!

If you know me at all-you'll know I hate physically exerting myself and that I also do not enjoy camping for more than a couple of nights-but I left my personal comforts at home a few weeks ago to hike the Grand Canyon! The hike of all hikes! I was scared out of my mind because I knew I did not prepare as much as I should have. But-this picture is proof that I made it to the top where my Davy was waiting for me! He was the best part of the trip for me-actually spending some time with him. What a hunk! And of course the nice long break from being a mother was much needed! Would I do it again? Probably not but I'm glad I did it!

This picture only slightly demonstrates how cold we were the first night/day! I don't know why the same day a freak snow storm hits in the middle of May is the same day I hike the Grand Canyon! It defiantly added to my already troubled mind. I had to buy cold clothes at the gifts shop because we weren't prepared. So now I will always treasure my Grand Canyon winder breaker-even through it has an ugly little Indian Man on it!

I think I'm still smiling here because we hadn't hiked anything yet. The views were the most amazing sights of Heavenly Fathers Creations I've ever seen! It was fun to have Davy there with me as he was seeing it all for the first time.

Yes-that is the trail! It wouldn't have been so bad if the huge gusts of wind felt like they were going to blow me over the cliff! Thankful I had my "rock" behind me to compensate for my lack of coordination.

The two master minds behind it all. I must really love my sister to let her talk me into this. The whole trip I just kept thinking "how did my sister turn into this hiker person?" This is not the girl I grew up with" The answer clearly is Bert!

This is the whole gang! Kelli and Bert with their sweet little Sage who turned out to be such a trooper! My two crazy brothers who were like the stooges the whole time ut also acted like rescuers, my parents-I can't believe they did it still to this day! My cousins Dani and Ryan who are always the best company- and us
