October 2019

This has been a fun month! Whoo ee! Micah took me to a rock n roll concert at the amphitheater, we had a great time! REO Speed Wagon.

All three of the Kolstad kids got awards at the first quarter assembly! I'm so proud of all of my kids!

It's finally the season for fires-and William couldn't be more happy, he is quite the pyromaniac. David also has been growing the most beautiful winter lawn.

My Davy sensed I was having a stressful day and sent me flowers. The funny part is they kept messing up his order and when they called me about a delivery I was convinced it wasn't for me! William accepted the flower for me though as I talked to him through the ring camera!
I finally finished the CTR shield Dave made for primary a while ago! I did an armor of God singing time. Ummmm, the general primary president Sis. Joy B. Jones unexpectedly came to senior singing time! It did kinda make me nervous-but I cranked along as my normal crazy chorister! The funny part is she came on the day we had to hold the hissing cockroaches!!!! My new name for the family is the cockroach chorister! I had done a "get the bugs" out lesson for the primary program and told the kids I would make Sis. Huffaker and Bradshaw hold cockroaches if they worked hard. I went to the exotic pet store (which was an adventure in itself) and kept two large cockroaches as pets for a month, posted them on the ward website, and had the kids vote on names. Sis. Jones walked in as we were all laughing and squirming with the cockroaches! We I re told the whole story to my parents we were just dying laughing!!!!!!! But I did have lovely conversation with Sis.Jones after primary-she is the real deal. She literally had tears in her eyes as she expressed her love for every single child to me personally. She was so kind an told me that the spirit was in primary today because what I was teaching was true.
99 year young this month for this lady. We had a great lunch with her and then had a family get together at the park that night. I'm really hoping she makes it to 100.

Camping trip! It was only one night but oh so wonderful and peaceful! The weather was perfect. I felt this was the trip to introduce my kids to monopoly. They are finally old enough. They loved it! I was completly shocked that Dave agreed to take over my train and join the game. He thoroughly enjoying taking every penny from our children. Allie cried, but we explained this was her first time playing and she did great.

Dave worked/schooled every day but one for October break so we decided last minute to take the kids on a day trip to Out of Africa. We had the best time. We pet giraffes, giant snakes, large rodents, and it was just fun for us to be together when no one was fighting. This is why I LOVE family trips-everyone just seems to get along with each other. Even Allison and I built up our courage to pet the snake!
