Headed to Zion! Just kidding..Sin City

A month ago we tried to take the trailer out to Roosevelt Lake for our first trip in the trailer-but when we went to get in the car the jacks/lifts were broken. Ya, we didn't go anywhere and Dave spend the only 2 days he had off trying to fix it.

Next attempt, I booked an expensive RV park near Zion's National Park-and I actually was so excited to be doing something together on Spring Break in a place we've never been.  At the edge of Goodyear we had a tire blow out on the trailer. It took a few hours to replace it and we got behind on making it to Utah.

As we were driving through Las Vegas at 10 at night another tire blew out. We pulled off at a scary 7 eleven off of Las Vegas Boulevard. A sketchy neighborhood would be an understatement. Dave was cursing, and I was crying-which made Allie cry. Will was laughing at me and Holly was cool as a cucumber.

We then attempted to find a place to just pull over and sleep. Walmarts rejected us but we found a Cracker Barrel next to a gas station. The plumbing got blown out with the tire so Dave didn't think we could use the potty, shower, or sink.

Well, the gas stations pottys we not open, but thank goodness In-n-Out's was! We didn't sleep at all! It was rough. The next morning Dave felt like he couldn't drive a far way on zero sleep. So-we figured out how to get all the tires replace and found an RV spot to stay at for the night-which happened to be over an air force base.

On a more fun note, we took the nigh to explore the Strip. It was fun! The kids did great and we saw some fun things-even though some things we closed down. The Coke store was a highlight.

Well, the trailer is turning out to be a money pit and not much fun at all. The fantastic deal Dave got on it turned out not to be so fantastic. Just praying it will be in July! I'm getting the vibe Dave is still in love with it-he asked me if I enjoyed having it yet after this trip. Well-that answer was easy-NOPE! The kids fought most of the trip and Allie almost broke her thumb on the trailer door. Dave and I were grumpy and the car ride to FOREVER because we were pulling a trailer. The kids did love the things we saw on the Strip though.

Memories good or bad-at least memories we made!
