We had a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving in San Felipe with the Bodines. Mom and Dad are gone-so we all thought-let's go to Mexico. I was nervous about the trip because David wouldn't be with us and hey, it's Mexico. David was just too stressed from the job situation that he didn't feel like he could go. My brothers, especially Micah, watched over us though and my prayers of safety were answered. We made wonderful memories, relaxed, played, and enjoyed life! The car trouble, diaherra, and cold weather were not highlights but the rest of the trip made up for it in spades.
Confirming my Mexico fears, my car starting having trouble in the middle of the Mexican dessert-no where! I said a prayer that we could just make it to San Felipe. We drove into town and went right to Bert's favorite restaurant. He began talking with the owner and sure enough, 10 minutes later Jose the auto mechanic met us at the restaurant. We followed him 5 minutes to a sketchy court yard (the repair shop) and he told us to come back in an hour. We came back, he had scalped an engine part from and friend and only asked for $50 bucks! I paid him 60! What a blessing! Answer to prayer! The car has been running great ever since.
Tyler Bodine sponsored all our henna tattoos. Mine says Davy.
My kids literally played the WHOLE day on the beach for 4 days with cousins-they had a BLAST! I literally sat on the beach for 4 days and had a BLAST!
The pina coladas were endless
On Thanksgiving day there was an outstanding double rainbow on our beach. This picture does not do it justice. I just felt so grateful in my heart for Heavenly Father so richly blessing us! It was a sign of God's love to me.
We ate every day at La Morena restaurant. I got kinda sick the last day there, hmmmmm. 7 days later an I'm STILL dealing with the aftermath of bad Mexican food. Once again I prayed that Heavenly Father would help me make it on the long drive home-prayers answered AGAIN! We made it home just in time to run to the bathroom.
The car ride home was LONG! Almost 3 hours waiting on the other side of the American border. We did watch a movie on the dashboard as we creeped along in line. Micah was a tremendous help-he drove the full 9 hours. I slept, snacked, and kept the kids happy. Our sweet Dad made us dinner and had got all the Christmas decorations down. We came home, ate, set up Christmas. It kinda felt like we completely missed Thanksgiving-in a good way! I didn't have to cook a thing!
