Back to School-Well not really

Our boy turned 10-I'm not big on huge friend birthday parties-but this time around it worked out easy and so worth it-the kids desperately needed some fun. All our family and friends came to a huge water slide down a hill at the park. Pretty much it was a blast! Seriously, we all had such a great time. My brothers were so fun squirting soap over everyone. Friends passing by stopped to join in, David had the night free and was able to help. What a fun memory to remember 12 years old. I was pooped after a couple days of cooking, wrapping, baking, partying.

Our Will is growing up to be such a wonderful young man. He is creative, funny, keeps the commandments, quick, curious, adventurous, kind-hearted and so much more. We are so proud of him.

Stephanie organized a paddleboat excursion along the Salt River for her birthday. It was awesome! So peaceful, lovely, tons of wild horses-and the best company around.
Somehow I got lucky enough to land another Millett boat trip-and with my entire family on board! (except Dave of course.) It was such a great day.
David has literally been working/school 7days a week. I told my friend that he is gone every day-she had to pause and clarify-what 7 days? Like she didn't believe me and though I was exaggerating-I told her yes, 7 days a week! It's funny how when I try to explain my husband's life, some people get it some people don't. Like it took Tyler Klein about 10 years of being in the family before he finally stopped asking me where David was. I tell people-well-at least we are still married!
The kids have been fighting non-stop for pretty much six months. To say it's been awful would be an understatement. Every day is a challenge spending so much time here at home when they are bored. So-I took 3 days this week and took each kid out to lunch. It was so lovely in every way. It was nice having time with the kids not having to bug them to get chores done or try to break up fights and tears. I hope when David's new career starts I'll have a little money to keep up this fun thing!
School-it started but not really. Online only-just like what happened in March, April, and May. I set up a school station-but we've gotten to the point where the kids don't even sit at the table anymore-lounge where ever waisting most their day on computer games avoiding online work. I have never been so politically active in my whole life I can't even count how many emails I have sent. William is legitimately failing because he just doesn't do and turn in most of his assignments. Holly is done with her work in 2 seconds and spends the whole day playing games! All picks and chooses what she wants to turn in and avoids assignments completely. Multiple times a day someone is crying of complaining about how their meeting/sound/mic/assignment isn't working. My kids have fried eyes and brains from staring at the computer all day. I'm constantly harping on them to get things done and do their work-unsuccessfully. A lot of charter schools and east valley schools having started back full time while Mesa Public drags their feet through endless debates and plans.

Two weeks ago-I've decided we are struggling so bad here at home-its time for back to school blessings. My sweet David is so thoughtful and wonderful when he gives us all blessings. I've kinda decided I need a back to school blessing every year too! I feel like every year things change for me. Working her-working there-quitting here-quitting there ect. The blessings we all received were so personal to each of us. David hasn't been home long enough to even know what is going on, it was so nice to here personal revelation for each on of our kids and for me. After our blessings, I was determined to go write it all down-and of course the kids majorly killed that dream. Craziness ensured quickly. On a more positive note, I do remember the feeling and the personalness, hopefully, that will carry us all through. We made a point to the kids to remember this feeling and the special blessings we had here at home. Within an hour fighting and choas started up-oh well we tried huh?
